My name is Miles Ryan and I started learning electronics about a year ago. I have come from a software and design background but am now fascinated with hardware. In order to learn about hardware and programming micro controllers, I needed to learn the basics. After studying many different books and websites I believe I have a decent grasp of basic electronics. I have used this knowledge to create entertaining and useful devices of all kinds. Understanding some of the basic physical properties of electricity has given me a new perspective on life and I want to share my findings with the world.

One of my great pleasures in life is creating long exposure photographs. Collecting light for many seconds is like taking a snapshot of not just a moment, but a span of time. The challenge of painting with no visual feedback in a dark environment can be entertaining enough, but the result is always interesting and unexpected. To better control my “brush” I have begun using my electronics knowledge to modify keychain flashlights. I would like to share my designs in hopes that someone else out there can also find joy in electronics and light.

Cheers!
